A proper introduction,
If you're here, there's a good chance you're trusting me with flowers that mean something to you and I think that deserves a real "get to know me.”
So, hi. I'm Crystal!
The short version is that I'm an artist, a perfectionist, and someone who cares far too much about details. The longer version is that I built Petals of Poppy from the ground up because I fell in love with the craft of floral preservation and the deep emotions connected to it for each individual person.
A bouquet may only last a week or two, but the memory attached to it deserves a little more staying power. It's an honor that that's exactly what I get to create every day.
A little about me? I am a mom working a full time job alongside Petals of Poppy, so I know all about dedication and hard work.
I have always been a very creative human who has LOVED flowers since I could remember. I started to notice so many people having the narrative that flowers just die.
I wanted some way to change this and to make people fall in love with flowers all over again. And well, here we are... I get to spend all of my time taking special blooms and creating unique pieces to fit each persons aesthetic individually.
a collection of things that you can find in the studio
Behind the curtain…
I started Petals of Poppy in honor of my late grandfather whom I called Poppy. The studio I'm building is an homage to where I come from and what I'm passionate about.
That same passion is what fuels my patience, attention to detail and willingness to do things more than once (which are all necessary skills in floral preservation). Sometimes that means carefully arranging petals for hours or waiting weeks for flowers to dry properly. And sometimes, it means redoing part of a piece because I know it can be better.
The flowers that arrive here carry too much meaning for anything less.
I'm always considering what I promise my clients: preserving not just what your flowers looked like, but why they mattered in the first place.
a lasting piece of your story
What is floral preservation?
Floral preservation is the process of carefully drying and transforming those blooms into a custom piece of art that can be enjoyed long after the occasion has passed. Through professional preservation techniques, pressing flowers, and resin artistry, your flowers are thoughtfully preserved and redesigned into a lasting keepsake that captures both their beauty and the memory attached to them.
Why preserve your flowers?
Most bouquets spend a week on the kitchen counter before slowly making their way to the compost. There's nothing wrong with that, flowers are naturally temporary. But every so often, a bouquet represents something you'd like to hold onto a little longer.
The flowers from the day you got married or the arrangement sent by someone you'll always remember. Maybe a bouquet from a milestone you don't want to forget.
Floral preservation allows those moments to become part of your everyday life rather than a distant memory tucked away in your camera roll.
